Chairman of the Board
Mr. Lazarovici has worked as a highly ranked and successful global metals and mining analyst for 20 years. Prior to entering the financial sector as an analyst, he spent over 14 years in the corporate sector in engineering, financial management and corporate development roles. Most recently, Mr. Lazarovici was the managing director and senior base metals and minerals analyst for BMO Capital Markets in New York where he led a team of analysts covering the base metals sector that was consistently ranked amongst the top tier in all of the major Canadian polls of institutional investors. Mr. Lazarovici has also served as a managing director and senior metals analyst for Smith Barney, where he was consistently ranked in the top tier of Wall Street mining and metals analysts in all of the major U.S. polls of institutional investors. He is the only analyst to receive the top ranking in both the Canadian and U.S. Greenwich Associates surveys of institutional investors. He also worked at UBS, HSBC and Scotia Capital. Since retiring from the financial industry in 2008, Mr. Lazarovici has served on the boards of several public companies, was a member of the audit committees of three companies and chaired one other company’s audit committee. He has a B. Eng from Sir George Williams University and an MBA from York University, Toronto.

Mr. Haywood has over 25 years of mining industry experience and holds degrees in both Mining Engineering and Law. Mr. Haywood has held progressive career positions with Anglo Gold Ashanti, Goldfields, IAMGold, Ivanhoe, BHP and Placer Pacific at various open-pit and underground mining operations around the world, including leadership positions of Chief Mining Engineer, Mine Manager, and General Manager. He has also been a consultant mining engineer on the successful feasibility of the large Century Zinc Mine (Zn/Pb/Ag) in Australia. Mr. Haywood has recently held President & CEO and directorship positions with a number of public and private Canadian corporations (TSX and TSX.V), including the President & CEO of Calvista Gold Corporation (TSX.V: CVZ) where he was responsible for developing and executing strategies which grew the value of the company within 9 months from a C$16 million market capitalization to a realized value of over C$80 million when he arranged and completed the company’s sale.
Mr. Mehra is an economist by training and received his BSc (Econ) in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics. He is the CEO of the ASTOR Group, a private investment and advisory business, working in the fields of Mining, Tech, Biotech and Real Estate. He spent many years in the commodity trading and mining business, owning buying and selling companies over 30 years and has substantial experience in the industry. He is a director of several companies, both public and private in both executive and non-executive roles. He also devotes significant time to non-profit activities in the fields of education and healthcare.
Mr. Surratt is a geologist and holds a BSc Geology from Sul Ross State University in Texas. He was the former President, CEO and Director of Mercator Minerals Ltd. from 1998 till his retirement in 2011. He served as Vice President Operations and Director of Miramar Mining Corporation. Mr. Surratt also served as Vice President Operations for Santa Fe Gold and previously was Mine Manager for the Rabbit Creek Mine.
Mr. Hopkins has broad junior resource experience in the areas of corporate finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, financial and management reporting. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, and a Chartered Accountant designation and MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Relay Medical Corp. and as Chief Financial Officer of Central Timmins Exploration Corp. Mr. Hopkins is also the former President & CEO Takara Resources Inc. and the former Chief Financial Officer US Silver Corporation.
Mr. Billings has an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a BA in Political Science from Carleton University and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has been an investment banker, having raised hundreds of millions of dollars for small-cap companies, including several junior mining companies. Mr. Billings also founded and managed companies in the junior resource sector, in addition to being CEO, CFO or a director of a number of publicly traded resource companies in Canada and abroad.
